Universal Tickets - Getting the best deal
Let’s face it. Theme park tickets are expensive. No matter which amusement park you choose, you’re going to shell out big bucks for your tickets. But let’s break it down. Disney and Universal tickets cost about $70 for a one day, one park ticket. On the average day, the park’s are open from 10 am to around 9 pm. That’s 11 hours of world class fun for $70, or just over $6 an hour. When you look at it that way, it’s not such a bad deal after all.
Want an even better deal? Take advantage of one of the many special ticket offers available at Universal. A one-day, one-park ticket is $73, which a one-day, two-park ticket is $83. If you’re a smart shopper, and you plan on staying for more than one day, you’ll take advantage of the best deal out there.
Universal offers a 7 day unlimited admission ticket on their website for only $99! This includes admission to Wet and Wild Water Park, in addition to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Considering a Disney park hopper pass costs several hundred dollars, this deal is pretty fantastic. The catch? You have to buy the ticket online, and it must be ordered at least two days in advance of your visit.
Want an even better deal? Consider the Orlando flex pass. For $234, you get unlimited admission for 14 straight days to Universal, Islands or Adventure, Wet and Wild, Sea World, and the brand new Sea World waterpark, Aquatica. For $279, you can include Busch Gardens Tampa in the package.
Of course, free tickets are even better, so make sure to check out all the available offers before booking your stay. Many hotels and travel agents in Orlando will throw in free Universal tickets with a minimum stay. Universal’s own website almost always offers a deal that includes free theme park tickets if you stay for three nights at one of Universal’s partner hotels (these aren’t necessarily onsite; there are some great deals here, many within walking distance).
If no deals are jumping out at you, give Mousesavers a try. They publish all the latest deals on Orlando travel, including Disney and Universal.
